Any advice on repairing the SRS system after a crash?

Both front air bags deployed and both seatbelts locked up!

I have searched the forums for info on restoring the SRS / airbag / seatbelt system but have not found any links on how to do it complete after an accident. Do I need to replace the crash sensors as well, if so where are they? Do you replace the complete seat belt set up or just the ballistic recoil / tensioner? Should I buy another air bag computer or just try to have mine reset?

Thanks :)

You don't repair any of it. You simply remove and replace. Everything.

You might be able to save/reset the computer, but the sensors, the belts, tensionsers, etc, are all used up garbage now.

Good luck, sorry, I'm not sure where the sensors are located.

sensor location?

Thanks, anyone know where crash sensor(s) are located in a '99 NB? Is there just one in the computer on the floor under the dash or are they located behind the front bumper?? I read somewhere that some sensors are a gold plated ball in a tube with a magnet that will reset itself after a impact and do not need replacement if not physically damaged?

i have both front air bags and Air bag control module from my 00 2.0. ever have any of them been used. i also have the clock spring for the front wheel. only thing i no longer have is the seat belts since somebody in your position bought those off of me. if you want them let me know i can get them to you for pretty cheap.

if you locate the sensors i will find them on my bug and ship those to you to since i no longer have any use for them
