thanks for responding! for the life of me i could'nt find that in my bentley. i was looking at the entire section 37! what page did you find it if i may?

 

God VW needs to hire someone with experience to write their technical manuals. Sheesh it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. So anyway, first, the value I gave you is wrong. Sorry about that. That's for the bolts for the pan on the *side* of the transmission.

The oil pan bolt value is 12 Nm.

You can find that under section 38 - Gears, Hydraulic Controls.
Then go under the sub-section Description and Operation.
And from there, look at the section "Valve Body Assembly Overview"
Item number 4 is what you are looking for.

 

Bentley manuals are not hard to use at all once you get used to them. I can't think of a way to make them any better.

Electrical diagrams are hard to follow. Need one large drawing rather than hundreds of tiny ones.
