Billy or anybody else???
Im having a issue trying to resolve this 17832 code. Its on the 2001 coupe. I have changed all vacuum lines on this car. Including the actual smog pump lines. Replaced Combi valve(was stuck in open position). Replaced smog pump with used OEM pump.Verified N112 works. I cannot find this damm leak!!! But..... will a diverter valve cause this? I discovered it is bad and wont hold vacuum. Its been ordered via Amazon. Hell, if there are places I need to look, please inform me. The Bently manual only tells you so much. Thanks!

Well, another new thread; have we discussed this in a previous thread before? Making new threads, make everything out of context and we are sort of, "starting all over again", please keep things in a thread with the full history of the problem, that way we can keep things organized, knowing all the things you have done previously. Having multiple threads, adds confusion and makes things less clear. Ultimately, we want to support and help everyone we can together, hopefully, we can effectively do this by keeping everything in a semi organized way.

Here is your trouble code definition from Ross Tech:

17832/P1424/005156 - Ross-Tech Wiki

17832/P1424/005156 - Secondary Air Injection System; Bank 1: Leak Detected

Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active

Possible Causes
Piping between Secondary Air Injection Pump and Secondary Air Injection Valve leaking
Faulty Kombi Valve

Possible Solutions
Check Piping between Secondary Air Injection Pump and Secondary Air Injection Valve
Replace faulty Kombi Valve

I'm pretty sure, I posted this before but this video, discusses, each area of the sai system to check and confirm, that they are working. I don't want to sound like a broken record but you would need to work down the list of components and confirm, each is working as it should.

Did you watch this video and did it help you diagnose/check things?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj-_bAiPq9Y&feature=youtu.be

There are a number of air injection system related video; I have posted before by Motorservice/Pierburg, which makes the system for VW.

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=motorservice+air+injection

There are also troubleshooting videos as well: maybe they might spark some ideas for you and see, how people test each component, to find the culprit:

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=vw+air+injection+system+troubleshooting

Here is a pretty solid video; showing diagnostic process using VCDS and output tests:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgpVPNo5_a0

Keep in mind, that a number of parts; can seem to "work" but may not be working at their needed levels (e.g. N112 "clicking" may not be working as it should, air pump with low performance, vacuum line to the kombi valve leaks, broken or not connected, etc). Using live data/output tests, can help actuate things, to see if they are working and a Mityvac style vacuum tester/gun, can help as well.

One would need to work through a process or elimination; to find the problem. i hope this helps; good luck! :)

No problem! So, did you figure, anything else out and find any new problems, you may have overlooked before? It takes, going over everything and trying to find, that each part is working correctly, to work through things. The video, troubleshooting the problem and using VCDS, to help the testing process, can be helpful, in narrowing things down. It can be frustrating, sometimes; finding what or which part is causing the trouble code. Working down the list of potential failures and doing a process of elimination, should help you find what is making the sai system, not work properly. I hope you find the problem soon; good luck! :)
