Im getting my bug custom painted raspberry metallic pink in two days because my factory batik blue is pealing and scratched like crazy, lack of tlc from previous owners. Any ways was wondering if anyone has seen a pink bug in person not online. pink is the only color i can think of that ive never seen on a beetle. Plus it will match my rims and interior. I will post pics of my girl when shes done. Idk the painter may have an idea for some kind of color changing thing idk yet. cant wait im excited.

Well i was shooting for a color noone else had, but obviously someone is going to have it. Oh well im contect because ive never seen one here in VA theres lots of bugs but as it is right now mine stands completely out. So a new paint job will be a step up. Cant wait to post pics. Of course she wont be fully finished till about a month or two from now, cause i have to let the paint fully cure before i put my plates and decals back on. Lol my boss is even irritated cause i refuse to my car topper on anymore i have to use the window mount one. that topper is a one way ticket to scratchville.. due tomorrow for painting, then sunday when i bring her home ill take pics if its not to dark

There is someone with a pink NB that lives near me. I've seen it a number of times. Also saw a Barbie bug at the dealer a number of years ago.

And don't you wish you owned that Barbie Bug! With about 0 miles on it. Wouldn't drive it, but sure wish I owned it! Without question the most collectible of all the NBs ever produced, and there weren't many others, if any; Perhaps the Herbie's.

And according to this it would not have been a Barbie Bug, but the Barbie Bug. According to this, VWofMexico produced thirteen for the Central/South American market, and VWofA produced only one for the American market.

Heres a pic of my new freshly painted pink beetle, fuschia actually

:rolleyes:Well here is bubbles. she was batik blue and now she is fuschia with metallic in her. I love it, the guy that painted her said that know one else will be able to match the paint because he had it specially mixed, because i wanted something unique. Its not quite barbie pink i dont like barbies and i dont like that color of pink, its more darker like pink purple. I had alot of pics of her from before but i lost all of them when i sold my laptop. alot of my interior is pink, a different shade though, watermelon pink, see i have a 3 yr old that cant keep his hands off of anything, so at the moment i cant have the inside done with the same paint as on the outside, he will only ruin it because it takes so long to cure or harden fully. lets see,,oh poo ill just put up more pics here in a few its to much to explain. well heres your first look at bubbles

I have one

I have an original factory painted VW beetle in Pink...we also have a restaurant named Big Pink in South Beach, Miami Beach FL that has your color pink beetles for delivery vehicles...but they are what they call wrapped...the insides are the color of the original color...kinda weird looking

she is a 1999 in great condition and I just bought her last week for $1500

I will attach my baby...I love her...I am planning on tricking her out soon...but money is tight

isn't she adorable...everybody at work calls her Pinky

There is no such thing as a factory "PINK" beetle. :p And hopefully there never will be ;)
The first thing I would do if I ever would buy a Pink anything is to repaint it Prowler Purple :D

Here are the paint codes for the 1999 New Beetle's

I wasn't going to be so forward, but that's why I asked. If it's well painted that area should be pink and that sticker should be missing ....

Actually there WERE Pink ones but later and sold as Barbie editions in Mexico. They had one painted two different colors of pink outside the old MI offices of VWoA for a while.

How about that. I guess somebody likes Barbie. :p

Only 13 of them were ever made. I guess it wasn't an official VW sanctioned production run ;)

Volkswagen of Mexico, produced at their Puebla plant, a limited edition New Beetle Barbie inspired by Mattel's Barbie range of toys. Only 13 units were made in pink bodywork color, sunroof and matching interior accents. 'Sarasota' alloy wheels. 2.0 liter models.

Tom, you beat me to it.

Car & Driver did an exposé

And in 2009 VWofA in co-operation with Mattel did a ONE OF Vert, customized by ABD Racing Werks

and of course the Kardashian sisters were on hand -

Of course Heidi Klum had a hand on

I think perhaps this gal showed it off best, though

Gotta love them puppies!

Of course this is not to say that some Dealer didn't place an order from the factory for the minimum required to get a custom paint, that is done sometimes, or that a Dealer didn't send one out, have it repainted, and sell it new as a pink one. That's been done also, so it is entirely possible that the OPer has a pink that came new that way. If it was done at the factory, the paint code will show on the build sticker, it the Dealer had it done, the original paint paint will show on the build sticker. Just have to wait and see what the OPer gives up about the label.
